Hey, Curlers! Welcome to Downtown Lakeville!

We are delighted to welcome curlers participating in Dakota Curling‘s first Cinco de Mayo Bonspiel this weekend. We hope you enjoy your visit to downtown Lakeville, and if you’re looking for something to do between games, we’ve got a few ideas. Best of all, everything listed is within walking distance of the curling club.

Eat & Drink

Angry Inch Brewing (20841 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville): This popular brewery is tapping Cerveza del Lago, a flaked maize and agave fermented Mexican Lager, in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Check it out, and dine on a few tacos from Lakeville Brewing Co. in the Angry Inch taproom on Friday. If you can’t make it over on Friday, the brewery will be serving up its specialty beers all weekend—you can order food from a neighboring restaurant. (Patio seating available!)

Babe’s (20685 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville): Daily drink specials, a full menu and live music make Babe’s a Lakeville destination. Check out country musician Tim Sigler performing from 9:30 p.m. to close Friday. Stop by for a drink and a bite to eat throughout the weekend. (Patio seating available!)

Dairy Delite (20885 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville): No trip to downtown Lakeville is complete without a stop at this iconic ice cream parlor. The shop’s menu includes burgers, sandwiches, soft serve and hard pack ice cream. There’s no indoor seating, so it’s a great place to sit and soak up the sun. The shop is open limited hours from 4-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Heavy Metal Grill (20851 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville) : Find food that rocks (the grill’s specialty beef or chicken phillies, plus a full menu of burgers, sandwiches, seafood, appetizers and salads) and a bar at this screamin’ cool restaurant. (Patio seating available!)

Lakeville Brewing Co. (8790 Upper 208th St. W., Lakeville): If you love beer, you’re in luck, because downtown Lakeville is home to two breweries, Angry Inch Brewing (listed above) and Lakeville Brewing Co. In addition to a delightful menu of specialty brews, Lakeville Brewing Co. serves up cocktails and wine and a full menu of food, including brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings. (Patio seating available!)

Mainstreet Coffee & Wine (20790 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville): Start your day with coffee, and end it with a glass of wine at Mainstreet. The unpretentious coffee shop brews up an exceptional cup of coffee (yes, even the coffee snobs think so!), and offers pastries, soup and sandwiches. In the evening, it’s a great place to unwind with a small bite or a glass of wine or beer. (Patio seating available!)

Toppers Pizza (20730 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville): Looking for a super quick bite? Get a pizza, wings or bread sticks to-go at this gourmet pizza shop. You can get a basic pepperoni pizza, but it’s worth branching out and trying one of the shop’s specialty pies, like the Buffalo Chicken Mac ‘n Cheese or the Taco Topper.
