Since opening in January, Dakota Curling has introduced the popular sport to new curlers of all ages and grown from 125 members to 400 members. The curling club, which relocated to Lakeville from Burnsville, offers Kids’ Curling for children ages 6-13 and a high school Curling Team, as well as leagues for adults. Dakota Curling also offers Learn to Curl classes and private event space—for curling and non-curling events.
Dakota Curling’s spring league schedule starts March 20 and offers options for players of all skill levels, including an instructional league that incorporates classes with game play. Click here for more details and registration.
The club is hosting its first Cinco de Mayo Bonspiel (or curling tournament) on May 5-7th. The tournament will include 32 teams from Minnesota and Wisconsin. Although the tournament is sold-out, curling fans can buy tickets for the Saturday night pig roast. Dakota Curling is also looking for donated raffle items from local businesses.
