Get Ready for Prom

From a stylish up-do to the perfect pedicure and professional facial treatments, downtown Lakeville is your head quarters for Prom preparations. With barbershops, nail and beauty salons, a florist and a tailor, we’ve found a team of professionals to help Prom-goers look their best from head to toe on May 13. With the help of professionals who put customers’ best interest at heart, anyone who gets ready here for the prom will be in good hands. As we already know the importance of good customer services, this article explains it further and how it can make all the difference to businesses. After all, getting ready is half the fun and we can’t do this without the help of these stylists!

Hair Styled

On May 13, Pizazz Salon and Boutique will morph into an unofficial prom head quarters. “We’re the hot spot for up-dos,” says Erica Demo, of Pizazz Salon and Boutique in downtown Lakeville. “It’s our favorite day.”

Every chair is full at the salon as stylists curl, braid and pin hair into a variety of styles. Demo has noticed that braids and up-dos are trending again. She advises clients to bring a photo of the look they’d like, but don’t stress too much about it. “Our girls are full of great ideas,” she says.

Just make sure you’re only focusing on the hairstyle the day of the big event. Plan on getting haircuts, highlights or brow waxing a week or two before prom. If you’re deciding to maybe do a full-on hair change, such as becoming blonde, make sure to keep that stunning style going with violet shampoo, to really make you shine on your prom night. As an extra incentive to book your appointments early, Pizazz is offering a free eyebrow wax with any scheduled up-do. If waxing is not your preferred method of hair removal, then do not worry, threading and microblading are also available. Accordingly, if you are considering dealing with any unwanted facial hairs or stray eyebrow hairs at home, you can find plenty of useful hair removal resources here: https://www.rankandstyle.com/top-10-list/best-facial-hair-removal-tools-and-products. Besides, no one wants an unruly hair disaster to spoil their prom night look. The salon is taking appointments for prom now so book early to get your preferred time slot.

Both barbershops TR’s Lakeville Barbershop and The Lakeville Barbers advise guys to plan on getting their haircut some time in the week leading up to prom. The Lakeville Barbers also offers hair styling, including the pompadour.

Outfit Perfected

If you’ve found the almost-perfect dress, but it still needs some tweaking, then you’ll want to make an appointment-stat!-at Tailor on Main. Cindy Hansen, owner of Tailor on Main, says anything is do-able when it comes to altering a dress, but it’s easier to alter a dress that’s too loose. It’s also best to contact her about six weeks before an event and make sure to bring the shoes you’ll be wearing at the event to the first fitting.

Your prom look won’t be complete without some flowers. Flora Etc. offers boutonnieres and corsages to coordinate with any prom attire. Flora Etc. owner Amy Povroznik suggests ordering flowers by May 6 to get the best selection. (And while you’re ordering, don’t forget that Mother’s Day is May 14!)

Nails Painted

Frenchies Modern Nail Care offers nail art in a variety of designs.

Frenchies Modern Nail Care and Pearl Light Nails both offer manicures and pedicures in downtown Lakeville, and its recommended that you book your appointments now for the best availability. When it comes to scheduling, “I recommend as soon as three days before, if needed, but the day before or day of would be ideal,” says Kate Wensmann, owner of Frenchies.

Frenchies offers Gel Polish, which lasts 2-3 weeks, and it also carries Chrome polish in multiple colors. Nail technicians at Frenchies offer nail art, and can mimic almost any design, Wensmann says. Blues, pinks, nudes and light purples are trending for spring. Frenchies is also offering 25 percent off all services booked for prom.
